Qin Feng at Blain|Southern

Qin Feng will be exhibited at Blain|Southern London from 19 July to 14 September 2019

In collaboration with our Director, Dagmar Carnevale Lavezzoli, the show will present an engaging artistic dialogue between one of the key figures of the China's avant-garde movement, Qin Feng, and one of the pillars of post-war American abstraction, Ed Moses.

Qin Feng’s  emotional and explosive works blend the energy of Western Expressionism and the sense of movement and transformation of Eastern philosophy Taoism..they bridge the ancient Chinese meditation of ink with the modern practice of action painting.

Qin Feng was born in Xinjiang in 1961. He is a tough and rebellious ink artist who has established an international reputation as one of the key figures of the China’s avant-garde movement. He was one of the first Chinese artists who experimented with and revolutionised the practice of ink in the 1980s.

Qin Feng's  work has been collected by prominent international museums such as The British Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Boston Museum of Fine Arts and The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, amongst others. Qin Feng is also the founder of MOCA Beijing.

We have been promoting and supporting Qin Feng's artistic career for several years  and we are delighted to have his works exhibited at Blain|Southern - his first major London show.

Selected institutional projects we have been involved with include:
